Pandit Shyam Sundar Goswami Musique Classique Hindoustani Du 13 au 17 Juin 2010 - Eglises et Temples de Lyon Cinq Soirées Indiennes en Inde du Nord - Concerts et Rencontres d’Exception Une immense facette musicale du sous-continent indien s’apprête à retentir dans toute la France au cours de soirées exceptionnelles, riches en couleurs, à travers l’art du chant Kheyal de la Musique Classique Hindoustani. Depuis quelques années à Calcutta une voix éveille une à une les cours intérieures des anciens palais du nord de la ville : Natmandir, Shovabazar, Chattu babu Lattu babu, Modan Mohan, etc... Elle fait vibrer les murs ancestraux de la première cathédrale du Bengale. Elle résonne dans plusieurs lieux historiques de l’Inde. Cette voix s’élève belle, pure, puissante et harmonieuse. Pandit Shyam Sundar Goswami se plaît à recréer l'atmosphère des “salons de musique“. Il chante « kheyal », un monde d’imagination. Il exprime l’âme intime du raga où se cachent des humeurs et des sentiments variés. Il révèle la réelle beauté du raga, tout en maintenant une grande rigueur dans la technique. Pandit Shyam Sundar Goswami fait partie des meilleurs chanteurs classiques indiens contemporains. Un “Joyau“ disent certains artistes pour parler de lui ; d’autres évoquent “la magie“ de sa voix. A chaque concert, cette magie alliée à son talent touche les cœurs et les emmène loin, très loin dans un monde de beauté et de lumière… C’est dans des lieux chargés de sens que Pandit Shyam Sundar Goswami à choisi de faire découvrir son art lors de soirées exceptionnelles. Il sera accompagné d'artistes connu de toute l'Inde et bien au delà, avec: - Biswajit Roychowdhury au violon, - Subhrangshu Chakraborty, le talentueux disciple de Zakir Hussain au tabla, - Françoise Jalais (Bandana) à la tampura. He is a young and talented vocalist of classical music, trained in “Kirana Gharana”. He has a master degree from Rabindra Bharati University,Calcutta, in classical music – specialised in “Kheyal”; Kheyal being the most appreciated and the most elegant form of Indian classical music. After many years of serious studies (sadhana), at the feet of several great masters (gurus), he emerges now as a new outstanding voice, “a jewel”, as the late artist Prabhas Sen of Santiniketan used to say about him. Master of Kheyal, Thumris and Bajans, he teaches at Calcutta School of Music, and performs all over India and abroad. Pandit Shyam Sundar Goswami will perform on April 17th 2010 in Calcutta for the Bengali New Year. And he will be in Europe between June and July for his new European Tour. Around 2 000 persons where present, mostly artists. - 16th June, concert at Mandapa Center in Paris. - June 09: interview and concert at TARA MUZIK TV Channel. - On the 9th May 2009, at Weavers Studio. - On February 09: Kolkata TV channel interview Pt Shyam Sundar Goswami. - On the 19th May 2008,at Eastern Zonal Cultural Center ( EZCC ) Auditorium. - 10 May 2008: concert at Srinath Hall, organised by the Swamijis of Bharat Sevashram Sangha-Ballygunge in Calcutta. - February 2008: St Xavier ‘s College Auditorium in Calcutta (sponsored by Professor Monique Sauvaige). - On 26 August 2007, concert at Mother House to celebrate the birthday of Mother Teresa. Shyam was accompanied by Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee on the tabla, Ustad Roshan Ali on the sarangi, and Bandana on the tanpura. - In August 2007, Calcutta School of Music organised a concert at Raj Bhavan for the governor; Shyam was among the artists selected; his accompanists were Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee on the tabla, Ustad Roshan Ali on the sarangi and Bandana on the tanpura. - May 2007 saw an unprecedented and great event: a concert of Indian classical music at St John Church, the oldest Anglican Cathedral of Calcutta; Shyam was accompanied by Professor Sudhendu Karmakar on the tabla, Bijay Mishra on the sarangi, Sonatan Goswami on the harmonium, Bandana and Sukla on the tanpura. - In March 2007, Shyam was invited to perform at Srinath Hall of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Calcutta. Shyam was accompanied by Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee on the tabla, Bijay Mishra on the sarangi, Hiranmay Mittra on the harmonium and Bandana on the tanpura. - In February 2007 Shyam Sundar Goswami sang in the chapel of St Xavier’s College in memory of one of their great Jesuit Babu Beckers. Shyam was accompanied by Ustad Sabir Khan on the tabla, Ustad Roshan Ali on the sarengi, Bibhouti Barman on the harmonium, Bandana and Sukla on the tanpura. - In June 2006 Shyam Sundar Goswami had been invited by the Governor of West Bengal, Sree Gopalkrishna Gandhi, to perform at his summer residence “Flag Staff House” in Barrackpore. He was accompanied by Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee on the tabla, Mahesh Prasad Mishra on the sarangi, Sonatan Goswami on the harmonium and Bandana on the tanpura. - In April 2006, his debut CD “Peace and Harmony” was released by the eminent artist Shanu Lahiri and, in May, he embarked on a successful European tour, including France and Switzerland (Paris, Rennes, Dinard, Dinan, Lyon, Lugano, Ascona), where he performed in theatres, in private houses and in churches. - He was accompanied by Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee on the tabla, Shabbir Hussain on the sarsangi and Bandana on the tanpura. Shyam Sundar Goswami is invited to tour the Old Continent again in the first half of 2008. - Since childhood, Shyam sung in innumerable events and places. Most notably, the“Biswa Bango Samelan” festival in 2000 at Rabindra Sadan Theatre, Calcutta, followed by a series of concerts in the magnificent “Raj Bari” (Palaces) of North Calcutta, the historical St John Church, St Xavier college, Bharat Sevashram, Mother Teresa house and many private concerts.
